The SIRGAS Executive Committee is pleased to invite the entire Scientific and Technological Community related to Geodesy and Earth Sciences to participate in the SIRGAS 2026 Symposium
Montevideo – Uruguay
03 al 06 de noviembre de 2026
Goals
Promote the implementation of the SIRGAS geodetic reference frame in all countries of the Americas.
Strengthen regional cooperation to expand geodetic capabilities, in order to ensure the development, sustainability, and promotion of a global geodetic reference frame, in accordance with the United Nations Resolution “A Global Geodetic Reference Frame for Sustainable Development.”
Promote the adoption and use of the SIRGAS geodetic reference frame in all countries of the Americas.
Strengthen regional collaboration aimed at building geodetic capabilities, with the purpose of ensuring the development, sustainability, and dissemination of a global geodetic reference frame, in accordance with the United Nations Resolution “A Global Geodetic Framework for Sustainable Development.”
Themes
Topic 1
Studies of the atmosphere and analysis of the Earth System
Geodynamic monitoring, atmospheric studies, determination of changes in mean sea level, geophysical studies based on the SIRGAS infrastructure
Topic 2
Development and maintenance of the SIRGAS reference framework
Reports from the SIRGAS Analysis Centers, review and update of processing and combination strategies, analysis and modeling of frame of reference deformations, processing of GNSS observations.
Topic 3
Applications of the SIRGAS reference framework
